Lessons from
Dr. Lowell

Lessons from Dr. Lowell was written in the year after my dad, Dr. Lowell Furman, passed on 12/08/2006. I initially published my book 2010, with Tate Publishing which has since closed, and sold a few copies locally in NC. I then was nudged on my Dad’s 90th birthday to republish with Trilogy Christian Publishing (publishing arm of Trinity Broadcasting Network, TBN) in 2020.

I initially started my book by writing down my journey with the loss of my dad and then also recounted family history and struggles, ending with 12 Bible based lessons my dad had imprinted on my heart.

If your family has experience with struggling through selfishness, offense, blended families, post-divorce, illness, parenting conflicts, and loss, this book gives structure to invaluable lessons grounded in Bible verses that can be a light through these dark valleys.

After my dad passed, it took me about a year to chronicle some of the lessons he had taught to all in his path. The writing of this book was my grieving journey. When I was in college, my dad and uncle, Dr. Richard Furman, co-founded World Medical Missions (WMM), which is the medical arm of Samaritan’s Purse. I grew up watching my dad and uncle spend their vacation weeks in third world countries healing the sick but most importantly witnessing to their patients about their Lord, Jesus Christ. My life and heart absorbed the priority and love of our Savior from my family.

I count my blessings daily for my path and my Savior.
