I was born in Harlan, Kentucky in December 1959. My family moved to Boone, North Carolina when I was 3 years old and never left. I loved growing up in Boone - skiing, eating at the Daniel Boone Inn, and working for my Uncle Jimmy at King Street Pharmacy.

After graduating from Watauga High School in 1978, I attended UNC Chapel Hill and then made my move to Boulder, CO to finish my degrees. There I met my husband, Steve, at a mutual friend's wedding. We were married in 1993 and had two daughters, Samantha and Sydney.

We moved back to NC in 2002 after I was diagnosed with Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and had wrapped up my chemo treatment. We raised our family on beautiful Lake Norman, in a small town north of Charlotte, prioritizing our Christian faith and southern values.

I have been a practicing Board Certified Psychiatric NP for over 25 years across the USA serving individuals of all ages. I am extremely passionate about my work!

My husband and I are now empty nesters in the mountains of NC and we attend Upward Christian Fellowship in Flat Rock. We are members of a weekly Bible study named Colossians 3:17. I also enjoy swimming with the Aquabelles, a synchronized swim team.

Hi!

I'm Barb!
